AMD: All necessary approvals have been obtained to complete the acquisition of Xilinx next week

On February 10, AMD announced that it had received all necessary approvals from all the necessary agencies worldwide to proceed with the acquisition of Xilinx, Inc.

In addition to the remaining customary closing conditions, all conditions to close the transaction have been satisfied. The company expects the transaction to close on or about February 14, 2022.


After the acquisition, AMD will own 74% of the company's shares, Xilinx's current CEO and president Victor Peng will join AMD as president, responsible for Xilinx's business and strategic development planning.


AMD announced on October 27, 2020, that it would acquire Xilinx in an all-stock transaction valued at up to $35 billion.


This transaction enables the two industry leaders to leverage complementary product portfolios and customer benefits, combining CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, adaptive SoCs and deep software expertise to co-create platforms across cloud, edge and smart end devices The leading computing platform.


Xilinx's main business is to design, develop and sell FPGA chips, including advanced integrated circuits, software design tools, etc. The company also develops the Adaptive Compute Acceleration Platform (ACAP), tailored to customers' needs.
