The FT230X USB to BASIC UART IC can be powered in three different configurations as mentioned in the document. 1. USB Bus Powered Configuration: In this configuration, the FT230X device is powered by the USB bus. The illustration in Figure 6.1 shows the components and connections required for this configuration. 2. Self Powered Configuration: In this configuration, the FT230X device is powered by its own power supply (VCC) and does not draw current from the USB bus. The illustration in Figure 6.2 depicts the components and connections for this setup. 3. USB Bus Powered with Power Switching Configuration: This configuration is used for USB bus powered applications where the device needs to draw less than 2.5mA of current in USB suspend mode. The FT230X provides a method to turn off power during USB suspend mode for external logic components. The illustration in Figure 6.3 shows the components and connections for this configuration.

The FT230X USB to BASIC UART IC supports data transfer rates from 300 baud to 3 Mbaud for RS422, RS485, and RS232 communication.
