The ZSSC5101 features include ratiometric analog output, up to 4608 analog steps, and a step size as small as 0.022°. It can be programmed through the output pin via a one-wire interface and allows for offset calibration of the bridge input signals. The ZSSC5101 also has programmable linear transfer characteristics such as zero position, angular range, upper and lower clamping levels, and rising or falling slope. It accepts various types of magneto-resistive bridge sensors like AMR, GMR, and TMR. Additionally, it has a programmable 32-bit user ID, CRC, error detection, error correction on EEPROM data, diagnostics for broken wire detection, and is automotive-qualified up to 160°C.

The ZSSC5101 converts sine and cosine signals obtained from magnetoresistive bridge sensors into a ratiometric analog voltage with a user-programmable range of travel and clamping levels.

The maximum full-scale travel range that can be obtained with the ZSSC5101 depends on the type of sensor bridge used. For rotational as well as linear movement, the ZSSC5101 accepts sensor bridge arrangements that can provide a full-scale travel range of up to 360 mechanical degrees .
