Generally, a quarter watt resistance in digital circuits is enough, right?

I have always been engaged in software development, and only recently started contacting microcontrollers. Circuit knowledge is limited to Ohm's law, haha!


However, the project is tight and heavy, and there is not much time and energy to make up the hardware foundation, so I will slowly learn from scratch later. At present, the first task is to make the debugged circuit on the breadboard into a PCB and make a product sample.


To get back to the point, how many watts of resistance is suitable for a microcontroller circuit with a voltage of 5V? What I tested was all quarter watts. I don’t know if the quarter watt is too large or small in actual circuit work?

Estimate the resistance wattage based on the actual current that needs to pass, and reserve a certain margin. Of course, the resistors on the digital signal lines of ordinary digital circuits are generally patched with 0603 or 0805.

Ordinary peripheral circuits can be 1/8W packaged in 0805.
