The current feedback ISENSE is connected to the 8 pin of UC3842 through a 10k resistor. What is the purpose?

R9 and R5 divide the reference voltage Vref to obtain a control level to raise the IS signal level.

The advantage is: You can use a smaller R11 to adjust the current, thereby improving efficiency.
