The current feedback ISENSE is connected to the 8 pin of UC3842 through a 10k resistor. What is the purpose?

Raising the potential of pin 3 can reduce the resistance of CS resistance and reduce loss.


In addition, it is best not to use words like -24V for the negative pole above.

It is easy to misunderstand that there is a negative voltage.

It can be written as: GND or 24V-.

R9 and R5 divide the reference voltage Vref to obtain a control level to raise the IS signal level.

The advantage is: you can use a smaller R11 to adjust the current, thereby improving efficiency.

The disadvantage is that the current adjustment accuracy deteriorates and the risk of loss of control increases.

The main consideration here is the signal (satisfying the application). As for the power dissipation, it is only a packaging problem, which can be relieved by multiple parallel connections.
